Overseas Workers

3 Counties Church helps support a number of overseas and UK based workers, both financially and in prayer. These workers are actively working to share God's love with people throughout the world - particularly in Africa.  They are involved in a variety of roles including translation, training local pastors and and providing educational sponsorship for underprivileged children.

OPEN DOORS

3 Counties Church also supports Open Doors, a charity that supports the Suffering Church Worldwide through:

  • Bible and Literature Distribution
  • Leadership and Training and Assistance
  • Christian Community Development
  • Prayer and Encouragement
  • Advocacy and Justice

TEAR FUND The Evangelical Alliance Relief Fund

Tearfund works particularly in Africa, Asia and South America, but also across Eastern Europe and the UK. Areas of work include tackling disaster, defeating disease, the environment, justice. It also sells fairtrade gifts and jewellery under the name Created

The Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East - www.frrme.org

We have a particular interest in the work of Canon Andrew White at St. Georges Church, Baghdad, praying for both him and the work of the Church on a regular basis.

Hope for all - hopeforall.org.uk

Hope for all is based in Gambia, West Africa and has projects in the area of education, health and water. The majority are based among Serahule communities, particularly in the village of Sabi, where the work of Hope For All first began.

Short-Term Opportunities

There are ever-increasing opportunities to join short-term teams both at home and overseas and many of our young and not so young people have spent from a few weeks to a few months serving God and others in this way.

For this year's opportunities go to www.christianvocations.org or borrow the Short Term Service Directory from the church office.

Watoto village, Uganda - www.watoto.com

A team of 31 adults and children from 3 Counties Church travelled to Uganda over Easter 2009 to work with Watoto. They served the Watoto team by helping to build a classroom. The Watoto children's choir will be visiting the local area again at the end of June 2010 and will be performing at a number of schools in the area. The next trip to Uganda is planned for 2012. Contact the church office if you would like to find out more.

Global Issues Team

The 3 Counties Global Issues team meets monthly with the specific aim of raising the profile of wider world themes in the church -  encouraging exploration of issues leading to praying, giving and taking action. We want to understand God’s compassionate heart for a broken world and to embrace His call to love and action.

You can be involved by:

  • Coming to one of our monthly Focus on… evenings where we explore a different issue each time.
  • Joining our planning team.
